The Calm After the Storm

I know things have been a little lackluster around Post grad recently.  I’m just as sick of talking about the bathroom as I’m sure you are hearing about it.  I mean really… let’s just see the big Before and After shots right?  Sooooon.

And with the great Pinterest Challenge already upon us this week, I’m sure I’ll come up with something crafty to post for next Tuesday.

But we needed a break.  No project-doing.  No fretting over furniture or decorations.  A break.

We’ve spent the week vegging after work.  Sweatpants and all.  Lots of Sons of Anarchy.  Lots of Walking Dead.  My God what did we do before Netflix?  I did manage to put on some lip gloss and head around the corner the other night with the Mister for a couple of drinks at our favorite wine bar.  A guy from Baltimore Magazine was there taking pictures, so keep an eye out for some pictures that make me looking like a normal social 20-something.  I’ll post the pictures if we come across it.  It’ll probably just be my hand, so you can witness the fact that I’m horribly overdue for a manicure.

And last night, we plopped down in the middle of the living room while watching The Walking Dead to carve our monstrous pumpkins.  Ready for the verdict on that one?  The Mister’s wins!  His pumpkin weighs 37.6 lbs!

I gave up on my design after carving out the cat since our stupid weak carving tools broke in the middle of this project and I had to spend the last 20 minutes carving with a steak knife.

Steven never gave up though.  He sat in that floor until after midnight perfecting the Grateful Dead skull logo.

Worth it.  That logo makes a really epic Halloween pumpkin.  I’ll post pics when they’re all lit up!  And I happily roasted our pumpkin seeds and sipped on cider and hot chocolate while admiring his handiwork.

So what all have you been up to for Halloween?  Any great pumpkin carvings?  Working on the perfect costume?
