Just Like New
One of the projects on the list we originally sent to our landlord for approval was to refinish the old vent covers. They were one of the first eye sores I noticed during walk-throughs and conveniently one of the easiest to address. Nothing a fresh coat of paint couldn’t fix up.
The other night, looking around the house just wanting a project to feel “finished,” I remembered this little upgrade. I went around and collected all the old chipping brass vent covers and took them outside where I’d spread out some newspaper.
Using the same can of Rustoleum oil-rubbed bronze spray paint that I’d used for the curtain rod project, I gave all the vent covers a nice coat of fresh paint.
Once they’d had a couple of hours to dry, I popped them back into place. Easy as that. This isn’t so much a “how-to” post as it is a “look how easy it is to make a drastic improvement” post.
Just look how much better the oil-rubbed bronze looks with the new bathroom tiles.
Yes, the blinds are awful. We’ll replace those eventually. Anyone care for a before and after from back when we moved in? Yeah… yikes.
