Big Sis’s Bridal Shower

This Saturday was MB’s bridal shower and as maid of honor I’ve been running around like a mad woman for the past month trying to make sure I’d thought of every last detail.  Exhausting, but worth it.  It was an absolutely adorable shower and the bride loved it!  Phew!  Here’s how it all went…

First, guests turned down our street directed by this a-frame chalkboard sidewalk sign.

Then made their way to the refreshment area where you could personalize your own champagne glasses (tutorial here) and either make your own mimosa at the mimosa bar (another idea snagged from Pinterest)

or have a glass of lemonade or cucumber water.

Then they rounded to corner to the food…. and my God was there food.  Everyone was busy in the kitchen that morning for sure.

The spread consisted of heart-shaped cucumber sandwiches, deli meats rolled with cream cheese, a cheese spread with brie, chevre, and smoked gouda, fruit salad served in waffle cones, crostini and bruschetta, sea salt chips and carmelized onion dip, watergate salad,

and CUPCAKES.

Yes, these cupcakes were made by yours truly.  I even surprised myself.  There were strawberry cheesecake, french vanilla, and oreo cookie cupcakes.  Having now had all three, I can say they were all absolutely delicious.

But enough about the food, the whole point of the event is to shower the bride with love and let’s not forget with gifts as well.

There were many gifts to be opened.

And many games to be played thanks to bridesmaid Alison and her awesome Jeopardy game.

The groom even made an appearance at the end.

Then as guests were leaving, they took with them a bottle of homemade citrus sea salt scrub and a cupcake to-go!

Many thanks to my parents and my Nana for spending several days scrubbing the house inside and out and helping me set everything up!  Couldn’t have done anything without you guys! :)
