Last night, I went out with my coworkers to celebrate my 1 year anniversary at Airclic.
I still remember that first day at the company. It was the day of the all-hands meeting up in Delaware. On the drive up, my slightly loose bumper (one of the pins on one side had broken, but that was all) started to get looser and looser ripping pin after pin all the way across the bumper. With the high highway speed and strong winds that day, it eventually ripped almost completely off only hanging on by one pin.
First day. New dress pants. New heels. New shirt. Pretty hair. Snowing. And I’m out on the side of the highway with a good samaritan who had pulled up and offered his help trying to tie my bumper onto my car. We took some rope from my trunk and with the help of this kind stranger’s pocket knife (one of the few times in my life I will ever be thankful for a stranger approaching me with a knife) managed to tie it back on so I could still make it to this meeting. Made for a great ice breaker story though.
To everyone at Airclic… it’s been a great year! Thanks for making my first year as a post grad awesome!
The guys even had an “Award of Survival” medal made for me. 🙂
It even has my name on it. The award was made by the wife of one of my coworkers, an artist in the Baltimore area. Thanks, Stacy! You did a great job! I absolutely love it. To check out more of her work, go to her website here.
