About Me
Renaissance man …. er woman (n.) a present-day person who has acquired profound knowledge or proficiency in more than one field.
That’s how I’d describe my hobbies and probably how my blog will appear to the masses. So if things feel a little eclectic and unfocused, well … welcome to Post Grad.
I’m a software engineer living in Baltimore with my boyfriend Steven (who I affectionately refer to as The Mister) and our cat, Aggie (aka “Bug”), in a 140 year old rowhome near the harbor that we rent. I grew up in a very DIY household and definitely have the mentality of “I’d rather do it myself or learn how than pay someone to come do everything for me.” Besides, how awesome is it to receive a compliment on something that you worked on or built yourself? Not everything goes according to plan and there are definitely times when I have to bite the bullet and call in for professional help. Like when my simple faucet replacement project turned into a leaky drain problem. As renters, we’re often limited in the projects we’re allowed to do, so a lot of my projects are geared more towards those facing similar limitations.
When I’m not working on the house, I’m building something for it. I also include various to-die-for recipes that the Mister and I come up with or try out. And, to add to the eclectic feel of the blog, I’ll occasionally throw in a post about recent photo shoots I do. Enjoy!
